Kamishin Ryu Kata No Shodan
Kan Shin Shomei Odori
Opponent grabs both your wrists when your hands are pointing down. Spread your fingers wide, keep your elbows into your side. Raise both your hands together towards your shoulders.
Kote Shomei Odori
As above, but as you raise your hands, open your arms wide. Step forwards and strike his ears with the heels of your hands.
Te Hana Odori
Attack as for Kan Shin Shomei Odori. As he grabs, spread your arms wide. His reaction is to close them so bring them together and upwards towards your shoulders, as if to read your palms. Take hold of his right hand with your right hand and bring his hand down to your left hip. Keep your left hand straight and run it down your right arm into his hand. At the same time stepforward on your left foot and push his hand into his body. This should force your opponent back and down onto the floor.
Ushiro Te Hana Odori
As above, but when you bring his hand to your hip, step back and round with your left foot (tenkan).
Yoko Tobu Nage
Double wrist grab attack. Deceive opponent by reaching down on one side, spreading your fingers. Then go to the other side keeping your arms straight and low to break his balance. Your throwing hand goes forward and to the side at 45°, with the back of your hand facing the direction of the throw. Side throw opponent by keeping your arms straight and turning your body as if throwing a discus. Your legs may bend slightly whilst you are doing this technique.
Ude Otosu Odori
Opponent grabs your left arm at the bicep. bend your left arms as if to salute, trapping his hand. Step forward with your right foot and strike opponent to the face with your right elbow as you reach over to seize his hand with a shodan wrist bend. Take hold of his elbow with your left hand as you step in front of him, pushing his arm towards him.
Kata Otosu Odori
As Ude Otosu Odori, except opponent grabs shoulder.
Mune Otosu Odori
As Ude Otosu Odori, except opponent grabs lapel at chest height. Rake his arm with your hand from just below his elbow towards his wrist, then hold his hand with your hand as before.
Nodo Otosu Odori
Opponent strangles with both hand from the front. Your left hand/wrist hold his right hand to your chest. Your left elbow goes over his left arm and down. At the same time step forward with your right foot and strike him in the face with your right hand. Take hold of his right hand and elbow and pin as in Ude Otosu Odori.
